The relegation battle in the Regionalliga West is entering the decisive phase. The remaining programme for SG Wattenscheid, Rot Weiss Ahlen, 1. FC Bocholt and Co.
In the Regionalliga West, the promotion of league leaders Preußen Münster is as good as a done deal, and the first team to be relegated has already been decided. In the battle to stay in the league, there are still important points at stake in the remaining six match days.
With 1. FC Kaan-Marienborn voluntarily withdrawing its professional team and starting anew in the Kreisliga, the first relegation spot has been assigned. SV Straelen, who are bottom of the league, can only theoretically keep their place in the league.
For SG Wattenscheid, Rot Weiss Ahlen, 1. FC Bocholt, SC Wiedenbrück and the reserves of 1. FC Köln and Fortuna Düsseldorf, however, everything is still at stake in the remaining season.
How many relegation places there are at the end of the season also depends on the 3rd Division. If no NRW club is relegated to the Regionalliga, the three relegation places would remain, otherwise one would be added.
