These 15 teams still dream of a place in the DFB Cup

It’s getting serious in the Niederrheinpokal, the Westfalenpokal and the Mittelrheinpokal. These teams are still in it and dreaming of the big tickets in the DFB Cup.

Lower Rhine Cup

Here we have reached the quarter-finals. Two games have already been played. Ratingen 04/19 won 3:0 at SV Sonsbeck and 1. FC Bocholt won 5:1 at TSV Meerbusch.

Now the two teams await their opponents. Ratingen will meet the winner of the match between Rot-Weiß Oberhausen and ASV Mettmann. Bocholt will face the winner of the top match between Wuppertaler SV and Rot-Weiss Essen.

The two open quarter-final matches will take place on Wednesday (1 March, 7pm). RWO have swapped home rights and are the heavy favourites against the district league side from Mettmann, who have, however, already managed to knock three Oberliga teams out of the competition this season and are on the brink of promotion to the Landesliga.

For WSV, the home match against RWE is the game of the year after the third league promotion was put on the back burner. Wuppertal is hoping for 10,000 visitors.

Westfalenpokal

Here, too, we have reached the quarter-finals. Three of the four matches have already been played. Delbrücker SC won 3:1 at RSV Meinerzhagen. ASC Dortmund also defeated SV Kutenhausen-Todtenhausen 3:1. And FC Gütersloh wanted to join in here and also won 3:1 – against SC Obersprockhövel. The last semi-final participant will be sought on Wednesday (15 March, 19:30) when RW Erlinghausen meet Spvgg. Erkenschwick. The semi-finals will be drawn on Monday (27 February, 18:30).

Mittelrhein Cup

The quarter-finals of the Mittelrhein Cup have already been completed. SC Blau-Weiß 06 Köln won against BCV Glesch-Paffendorf 3:2, SV Eintracht Hohkeppel defeated Bonner SC 4:3, 1. FC Düren won against FC Hürth 3:2. And in the top match, Viktoria Köln won 1-0 at Alemannia Aachen after extra time. The semi-finals will be drawn on Tuesday (28 February, 7 pm).

The final matches will be broadcast in a conference on free TV, as they were last time as part of the amateurs’ final day. On 3 June, the amateur final day will be staged for the eighth time.
