This season, football on the Lower Rhine is once again good for incredible numbers. After the first half of the season, these are the teams with the most goals in the Lower Rhine region.
Whether in the Bundesliga or the Kreisliga, all footballers in the Lower Rhine region agree on one thing: scoring goals is a hell of a lot of fun. So, following the motto “the more, the better”, the teams go hunting for goals every weekend. These teams brought home the best haul in the first half of the season.
10th place: Tenth place comes from Kaarst and bears the name Sportfreunde Vorst. In the Kreisliga B1 of the Grevenbroich-Neuss district, the Sportfreunde scored an impressive 102 goals in 18 games.
9th place: Like the team from Kaarst, 1st FC Mülheim scored 102 times in the first half of the season. The difference: The Mülheim team only needed 17 matches instead of 18.
8th place: In the first round of Kreisliga C in Krefeld, 719 goals have been scored so far, almost 15 per cent of which were scored by unbeaten TSF Bracht 2. Before the start of the rest of the season, Bracht have scored 103 goals from 18 games.
7th place: The second team of Rhenania Bottrop, who are playing in the Kreisliga B1 Siegemund in the Oberhausen-Bottrop district, have already scored 105 times in just 16 games.
6th place: In the second group of the Kreisliga C in Essen, one team is also particularly dominant. DJK SG Altenessen II not only clearly topped the table, but also managed to put the ball in the net 107 times in 18 games.
5th place: After the second team of SF Walsum won 12:1 against 1. FC Dersimspor in the Kreisliga C3 of the Duisburg-Mülheim-Dinslaken district before the winter break, the team now has 108 goals after only 15 matches.
4th place: The second team of TSV Eller needed 18 matches to score an impressive 109 times. What is interesting here is that the regular season in the fourth group of the Kreisliga C in Düsseldorf, which consists of only 10 teams, has already ended with the winter break. Now the teams are newly divided into groups.
3rd place: TSV Fortuna Wuppertal II occupies the lowest step on the podium of the teams with the most goals in the Lower Rhine region. TSV’s second team only had to appear 14 times in Kreisliga C1 to score an incredible 118 goals. That is an average of almost eight and a half goals per game.
2nd place: Only just missing the top spot, but still with an incredible 122 goals from 15 weekends, is SV Siegfried Materborn from the Kleve-Geldern district in second place. The SV has not lost once in the first round of the Kreisliga B and leads the table with 45 points.
1st place: Behind the third most dangerous team, TSV Fortuna Wuppertal 2, the third team of Sportfreunde Siepen is in second place in the Wuppertal-Niederberg C1 district league. And this despite the fact that the Sportfreunde are the team with the most goals in the entire Lower Rhine region. The Siepen team scores an average of nine times in a game and thus has 129 goals from 14 games.
