The draw for the 2024 European Championship is drawing ever closer. Which groups have already been decided and which teams still have to tremble.
The time has come on Saturday, December 2. The draw for the 2024 European Football Championship will be held at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. As the host nation, the German team will be in the first draw pot, together with Portugal, France, Spain, Belgium and England. “The ideal constellation is that we deal with them if we progress,” says new national coach Julian Nagelsmann with a view to the supposedly strong teams of Portugal, France, Spain, Belgium and England, which the German team would only meet after advancing to the knockout phase.
Which teams have already qualified? Which teams have already found their lottery pots? And who is still fighting for the last remaining ticket? An overview:
The pairings will be drawn from four pots from 6 p.m. on December 2.
Pot 1: Germany are seeded as hosts. They will be joined by the four best group winners: Portugal, France, Spain, Belgium and England.
Pot 2: Hungary, Denmark, Albania and Austria have been seeded so far. Turkey, Croatia, Romania and Switzerland are fighting for the remaining two places.
Pot 3: Scotland, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Netherlands.
Pot 4: Serbia are safe in the pot, plus the three play-off winners.
Italy, Turkey, Romania and Switzerland have also confirmed their participation in the European Championship. However, it is still unclear which pot they will end up in.
This means that the DFB team could face Hungary, Austria or the Netherlands, among others, in the group stage.
Broadcast of the European Championship draw on TV The entire draw for the 2024 European Championship finals in Germany will be broadcast on German free-to-air TV by ZDF. The ceremony will also be streamed live online in the broadcaster’s media library. Magenta TV will also broadcast the draw and UEFA will offer an international live stream on its own website.
Ticket sales for the 2024 European Championship in Germany: The European Championship kicks off with the opening match in Munich on June 14, 2024. Matches will also be played in four NRW stadiums: Düsseldorf, Cologne, Gelsenkirchen and Dortmund.
The European Football Association UEFA launched ticket sales on October 3. In the first wave of sales, 1.2 million of the 2.2 million tickets available to fans were put on sale. However, soccer fans were initially only able to apply for the tickets.
Due to the high demand, with well over ten million requests received according to UEFA, the lottery procedure will last until “November 14 at the latest”.
