These three clubs are vying for RWE star Aygün Yildirim

Aygün Yildirim is back on the German market. After his adventure, the offensive player is looking for a new club in the Regionalliga West. Three clubs are interested.

Aygün Yildirim was once on his way to the top. He had a good spell at SC Wiedenbrück (32 games, 13 goals, four assists), Rot Weiss Ahlen (105, 21, 12) and especially at SC Verl, where he was involved in a whopping 49 goals (37 goals, 12 assists) in 73 competitive games.

His path led him to SSV Jahn Regensburg in the 2nd Bundesliga, where he only managed to score one goal and provide one assist in 40 appearances. One league lower at Arminia Bielefeld, things didn’t go as planned for the Ahlen native either. 32 games, two goals, three assists – Yildirim was actually used to very different numbers. The 30-year-old terminated his contract with Arminia last winter and sought his fortune in Turkey with 1461 Trabzon FK, where he failed to score a goal or record an assist in 14 appearances.

The offensive player was very much looking forward to spending time in his parents’ homeland and had big plans. At the beginning of January 2025, Yildirim told Forecasting: “I’m going to move to Trabzon with my wife. We will now live in a beautiful place and I can concentrate fully on the sport. After careful consideration, I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to play here. I am now looking forward to my time at 1461 Trabzon FK and will do my part to achieve the goals that have been set. A new chapter in my career has begun.”

But after only six months, he packed up his bags on the Black Sea and wants to return home. Several clubs took notice, and Yildirim, who was once a real threat to Rot-Weiss Essen (ten games against RWE with four goals and two assists, editor’s note), immediately had numerous inquiries and offers on the table.

According to Forecasting information, Yildirim had inquiries from all regional leagues as well as from the 3rd league. No wonder: Yildirim was and is known for his speed, dribbling skills, and goal-scoring ability. According to our information, three clubs are still vying for Yildirim: Eintracht Trier, SV Rödinghausen, and 1. FC Bocholt. Yildirim wants to decide on an offer as early as this weekend and then make a fresh start in German soccer on Monday, September 1, 2025.
