Tues Bövinghausen is lagging behind its goals in the Oberliga Westfalen. The second half of the season is no longer about promotion.
TuS Bövinghausen had once again started the season in the Oberliga Westfalen with ambitions. Promotion to the Regionalliga West was once again the goal. However, it quickly became apparent that the squad was not ready for the Dortmund team’s goals. The new start over the winter should at least be enough for the new minimum target. Because nobody in Bövinghausen is talking about promotion anymore. Instead, the aim now is to increase the gap to the bottom of the table in order to avoid slipping into the relegation battle. Who exactly will be on the pitch will only become clear in the coming weeks.
Bövinghausen president Ajan Dzaferoski on…
The first half of the season in the Oberliga Westfalen: “We are definitely dissatisfied. We have a few points, but that’s far too few. We’re a bit like the German national team, we have good players who undoubtedly have quality, but the structure didn’t fit. It wasn’t a unit. We also lacked luck at times and we didn’t have a goal scorer who could put things in front.”
The best moment: “That was probably the win against Sportfreunde Siegen in the last second. We’ve had some interesting games.”
The worst moment: “That was the 5-0 defeat against Sportfreunde Lotte. They’re not bad, but losing by five goals doesn’t have to be like that.”
The goals for 2024: “We want to finish in a good single-digit place in the table. The teams at the top are already too far away. That’s 17 points in some cases, if it were nine it would still be possible. But we don’t need to look up now. We will hold talks with players. “
