On May 25, Alemannia Aachen will celebrate the third division championship. Before that, the new Werner Fuchs special jersey will be worn for the first time. At the cup final against Bonner SC.
Alemannia Aachen and the City of Aachen have unveiled the plan for the promotion celebrations on the weekend of May 25th.
While the fans get in the mood in Aachen, the team will wear the new “Werner Fuchs special jersey” at the Bitburger Cup final against Bonner SC in Cologne’s Sportpark Höhenberg.
To the celebrations. Lord Mayor Sibylle Keupen and Alemannia Managing Director Sascha Eller announced three main points of action on Friday:
Point 1: The big party will kick off at the Tivoli on Saturday, May 25, from 5 pm. There will be music, plenty of space on the edge of Krefelder Straße and on the ALRV gravel pitch right next to it. The team is expected here in the evening after the cup final against Bonner SC from Cologne and can celebrate extensively and for a long time – virtually at home. “The big party will take place here; we’re still coordinating the details with the regulatory authorities; it’s going to be great,” says Eller. There is room for over 20,000 fans here; the neighboring Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein is also making part of the grounds available. A big thank you also goes to the Aachener Stadionbeteiligungsgesellschaft around Managing Director Bernhard Deil, who is assisting with the realization of the celebration.
Point 2: On the way back from the cup final, the team and the club’s top management will change vehicles in Aachen – possibly at the main station – on Saturday evening. A parade will then start across the city to the market, where only a very short stop is planned. “Above all, we are hoping for lots of fans along the route, let’s cheer there; we are currently working out the exact route. We will be able to present the details next week, planned for Wednesday,” says Aachen’s head of public order Annkathrin Grehling. “We’re rolling out the red carpet for Alemannia, that’s for sure: I’m really looking forward to it,” explains Keupen. As only a flying visit to the market is planned, the fans should – if possible – already be on their way to the Tivoli; or they have already been celebrating there since 5 pm. The arrival of the championship team will not be possible until the evening – simply because of the return journey from Cologne and the subsequent triumphal procession towards Krefelder Straße with a short stopover at the town hall.
Point 3: On Sunday, 26 May, a large family festival – expressly organized for children – will start at noon on the market square in front of the town hall. The team is also expected here, but in front of a “family-friendly” fan audience. Youth teams are to be included in the program. The organization team and the security authorities will clarify exactly how any admission controls will take place in the coming days. “We’ve been planning the equalization for some time and wanted to surprise with the activities,” says Eller. “The decisive factor is that we have different celebration locations and different celebration formats,” says Keupen. “We’ll see the team on the steps of the town hall, of course. That was always part of the planning,” she explains. Alemannia Aachen and the City of Aachen have been working closely together for weeks to plan the events for the season finale and championship celebrations.
Alemannia Aachen present “Werner Fuchs special jersey”
Also on Friday, Alemannia Aachen presented the “Werner Fuchs special jersey”, which was designed by the fan site ALEMANNIA ZONE to mark the 25th anniversary of the club legend’s death
The jersey has a black base color and is decorated with golden imprints. The memorial slogan “Werner Fuchs unforgotten” is not only located above the club logo on the chest, but also on the back of the jersey on the collar. The dates of Werner Fuchs’ birth and death are also added there: 25.10.1948 and 11.05.1999. The silhouette of the coach of the century is also printed at the bottom right of the front.
“I have fulfilled a dream of mine with this jersey,” said designer Malik, adding “I am incredibly pleased that this collaboration with Alemannia could be realized. The jersey should play a part in ensuring that the memory of Werner Fuchs never ends. “
