Ten players left Rot-Weiß Oberhausen during the 2025 summer transfer window. We took a look at how the former Kleeblätter are faring at their new clubs.
Rot-Weiß Oberhausen said goodbye to ten players in the summer of 2025 – here’s how the former RWO pros are doing – an overview:
Timur Mehmet Kesim (Hertha BSC II):
RWO had long fought for the services of the striker, who then decided to move to the capital. Things are not going well for Kesim here. The 21-year-old attacker has not yet played for Hertha’s reserve team. The reason: Kesim has been injured since preseason. It is unknown when last year’s 15-goal scorer for Oberhausen will be available to the Berliners again. Tarsis Bonga (Würzburger Kickers): Things are going very differently and much better for Tarsis Bonga in the Bavarian regional league. The 28-year-old has been in the promotion race with Würzburger Kickers since the start of the season. And Bonga is a key player, as evidenced by his six goals in twelve games so far. Bonga scored nine goals in 23 games for RWO in 2024/2025. Denis Donkor (TSG Hoffenheim II): Former RWO winger Denis Donkor still has to get used to his new surroundings and a new league. The 21-year-old has only made two brief appearances for the third division reserve team of Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim, playing a total of 21 minutes. By comparison, his RWO statistics from 2024/2025 are: 33 games, two goals, 13 assists. Kerem Yalcin (SC Paderborn II): Kerem Yalcin seems to have made the right decision with his transfer. The defensive specialist has made eight Regionalliga appearances and scored one goal in Paderborn. Better still, the 20-year-old was in the matchday squad for the SCP pros’ last second division games against Fortuna Düsseldorf and 1. FC Nürnberg, as well as most recently against 1. FC Kaiserslautern and Eintracht Braunschweig. However, Yalcin still has to wait for his first second division minute. Cottrell Ezekwem (SV Rödinghausen): He once joined RWO as a center back and then left Lindnerstraße in the summer of 2025 as a striker for SV Rödinghausen. In eleven games, he has yet to score a single goal for SVR. At least Cottrell Ezekwem scored twice in two Westphalia Cup matches. Diamant Berisha (Sportfreunde Lotte): The offensive player has not yet made it past the reserve role at Lotter Kreuz. He has made five appearances in the league so far, without scoring a goal or providing an assist. In the Westphalia Cup, he has matched Ezekwem’s record – two appearances, two goals. Jonah Husseck (TSG Sprockhövel): The 21-year-old center back is recovering from a meniscus injury and has not yet played. Ozan Hot (1. FC Kaiserslautern II):
The 20-year-old has established himself in the FCK reserves and is an integral part of the Oberliga team. In ten games, he has made five appearances as a center back—six times for the full 90 minutes, twice for 45 minutes, and twice for 23 and 11 minutes. He has also played in the number six position in midfield.
Leon Kayser (SC Preußen Münster II):
The right winger has made five appearances totaling 250 minutes for Preußen’s reserve team, which plays in the Oberliga Westfalen. At least Kayser was able to contribute one assist.
Robin Benz (destination unknown):
The 29-year-old goalkeeper, who has played 76 times for RWO, is still looking for a new club.
