MSV Duisburg has said goodbye to ten players in the summer of 2022. RevierSport took a look at how the Zebras’ departures are doing at their new clubs.
Ten players, including two on loan, have left MSV Duisburg in the summer of 2022. We took a look at how the departures are doing with their new employers. An overview:
Dominic Volker, unsigned:
The centre-back is the only MSV summer departure who has yet to find a new club:
John Yeboah, Slask Wroclaw:
The winger was on loan from Willem II Tilburg last season. He returned to Holland in the summer and was then signed by Polish club Slask Wroclaw. Yeboah made seven appearances in the Polish Ekstraklasa, scoring one goal. In total, he has played 367 minutes in the league so far.
Leo Weinkauf, Hannover 96:
The goalkeeper, like Yeboah, was also on loan and returned to Hannover 96. Here he has so far appeared in the DFB Cup and in one game in the Regionalliga Nord for Hannover’s U23s.
Jo Coppens, VV St. Truiden:
The goalkeeper is on the bench at Belgian first division side VV St. Truiden and is still waiting for his first competitive minutes for his new employer.
Roman Schabbing, Preußen Münster:
Weinkauf, Coppens and Schabbing: Three goalkeepers left Duisburg in the summer. But just like at MSV, Schabbing is not getting a chance at his new club Preußen Münster. Like Coppens, Schabbing is still waiting for his first call-up.
Rudolf Ndualu, SV Babelsberg:
The winger, who left Duisburg just a few days ago, has made two league appearances for Babelsberg so far, totalling 114 minutes of play.
Niko Bretschneider, Auda Kekava:
The left-back is trying his luck in Latvia. Here, Bretschneider is a regular player for first division club Auda Kekava. He has played 497 minutes in eight appearances so far.
Stefan Velkov, Vejle BK:
Like Bretschneider, Velkov is doing really well abroad – even better: the centre-back is an undisputed regular at Danish second division club Vejle BK and has not missed a single minute of action in eight games. Velkov is a key player for the Danes.
Oliver Steurer, VfB Oldenburg:
Performer, that also applies to him: Oliver Steurer also didn’t miss a second in his first seven Drittliga games for VfB Oldenburg and played 630 minutes. With his new club, he also recently earned a 1-1 draw in Duisburg.
Orhan Ademi, UTA Arad:
For the striker, things are not yet going so well in Romania. Ademi did appear in seven league matches for Arad, but only for a total of 206 minutes of play. The Swiss is still waiting for his first goal for the Romanian first division club.
