Rot-Weiss Essen has a new main sponsor. An Essen solution has been presented.
Rot-Weiss Essen has found a new main sponsor. After the end of the cooperation with Harfid in December 2022, “Deutsche Saatgut GmbH” stepped in at short notice until the end of last season.
Deutsche Saatgut” now stepped aside from the chest and will nevertheless continue to accompany RWE as a partner. The company will become a premium partner. From now on, ifm electronic will be on the chest.
The Essen-based company will be the main, jersey and sleeve sponsor – the agreement will initially run for one year.
Since 2016, ifm has already been a partner of Rot-Weiss Essen. From the second highest level “premium partner”, ifm became sleeve sponsor in summer 2020. The renaming of the RWE stadium to “Stadion an der Hafenstraße” is supported by ifm as a top stadium sponsor. The globally operating family business also supports the junior teams as well as the Essen chances as a cooperation partner. Now ifm is the new main and shirt partner – in the 3rd division as well as in the DFB Cup.
“Strong signal to the city community!”
Marcus Uhlig, CEO of Rot-Weiss Essen, says: “I am very happy how the partnership between ifm and RWE has developed. For years we have maintained an excellent exchange, which now reaches a new peak in the main sponsorship! We appreciate how strongly ifm identifies with Rot-Weiss – this is proven not least by the long and multi-faceted common path. I also feel that the significantly increased commitment for the new season is a very strong signal to the city community. This is a genuine ‘Essen solution’ of two traditional brands firmly rooted in the city.”
ifm will remain on the jersey sleeve and pledges additional support as main and jersey partner. Uhlig: “The intensity with which ifm supports us is further proof of the identification with the team, fans, history as well as with the future prospects of Rot-Weiss Essen!”
Which is confirmed by Michael Marhofer, chairman of the ifm group of companies. The RWE fan explains: “I grew up in Essen and therefore know about the enormous importance of Rot-Weiss Essen in the city community. We work well together with Marcus Uhlig and his team: In the past years, we have achieved great goals together – both on and off the pitch. Now we want to play a major role in supporting RWE’s development in this important second year in the third division and be part of the plan to further establish Rot-Weiss on the national football stage.”
The new home jersey: one city, two colours!
After the presentation of the new main sponsor, RWE also revealed the secret of what the new jerseys will look like (see photo). The home jersey will presumably be available from the beginning of August.
