VfL Bochum beat Wuppertaler SV 5:0 on matchday 19 of the A-Junior Bundesliga West.
VfL Bochum’s U19s have bounced back with a resounding victory in the A-Junior Bundesliga West. One week after the unfortunate 3-2 defeat in the last second against Borussia Mönchengladbach, coach Heiko Butscher’s team recorded an unchallenged 5-0 win at basement club Wuppertaler SV.
“It was an absolutely deserved win,” said Butscher after the game. “We were on top of our game from the very first minute. We attacked early and well and found good solutions in the final third.” Thanks to their high level of control of the game, they did not allow WSV a chance on goal.
However, Bochum were not initially focused on scoring goals. Niko Bozickovic had to leave the pitch early on. He was replaced by Luc Dabrowski in the 13th minute. Ten minutes later, the first goal was scored in the Wuppertal box. Cajetan Benjamin Lenz scored for Bochum.
The home side then decimated themselves. After Wuppertal were shown a yellow card, Mohammad Mahmoud converted a penalty to make it 2:0 at half-time (44′). The picture did not change after the break.
Within eleven minutes, Bochum made the final score. First Divine John Boafo (49′), then Lennart Koerdt (55′) and Adam Tolba (60′), again from the penalty spot, quickly made it 5:0.
VfL Bochum’s next match is at home against Viktoria Köln (March 10, 11 a.m.). Wuppertaler SV travels to MSV Duisburg at the same time. with gp
