ASC Dortmund is flying towards promotion to the Regionalliga West and has finalized three more personnel appointments for the coming season.
ASC Dortmund is heading at high speed towards promotion to the Regionalliga West for the first time. “The boys are aware of where they stand and what is possible. They are keen to keep going,” Marco Stiepermann told RS at the start of the month – and then celebrated three wins in four games with his team at the start of the year.
Planning for the coming season has long been in full swing. The ASC has now announced three contract extensions with key players: Julian Franke, Michael Marvin West and Florian Rausch have signed for next season.
The 23-year-old Franke is a fixture in the Stiepermann team and is deployed on the left side of defense or in central defense. “Julian is one of our fastest players and his character is beyond reproach,” said sporting director Samir Habibovic about Franke, who has been playing for Aplerbeck since 2020 and has made 59 senior league appearances since then.
West is also currently playing his fourth season for Dortmund. The former Rot-Weiss Essen talent has been a real asset from day one, says Habibovic, praising the 22-year-old central defender. “You can always rely on Michael. “
And with Rausch, a 24-year-old who has been wearing the ASC jersey since 2019 remains. The midfielder is currently in top form: he has scored three goals and provided two assists in the past three games. Habibovic: “Florian is one of our biggest talents and has the ability to single-handedly decide games.”
Now it is up to the trio and the other ASC personnel to ensure that they play in the fourth tier next season. Abnor Murati (most recently of TuS Bövinghausen) is also a new signing for the 2024/25 season. First, however, they will continue in the Oberliga Westfalen. The next opponent in the promotion race is SpVgg Erkenschwick next Sunday (3.15 pm, RS live ticker).
