At the top of Westfalenliga 1, SC Verl II and Westfalia Kinderhaus will be in a tight battle until the end. The first decision has been made at the bottom of the table.
The battle for the championship and promotion place in Westfalenliga 1 will come down to a heart-stopping finale. Leaders SC Verl II and runners-up Westfalia Kinderhaus also completed their tasks on matchday 29 and go into the final game separated by one point. The sports club is on 66 points, Westfalia on 65.
Verl’s second team had no major problems at home against SV Rödinghausen II and won 4:1. Illia Poliakov scored twice (56th, penalty/85th), Marlon Lakämper (29th) and Sekuo Eickholt (63rd) scored the other goals.
Westfalia Kinderhaus, who hosted FC Nordkirchen, were somewhat more competitive. Fabian Witt (25′) and Julian Horstmann (32′) paved the way for an early home win, but Simon Mors brought the visitors back into contention shortly after the break (85′). Semih Daglar then scored a penalty in the closing stages (85′), but Nordkirchen came too late to make it 2:3 (89′).
Verl II visit bottom-of-the-table Hamm on Sunday (3pm), while Westfalia Kinderhaus travel to RW Maaslingen (6th).
Late blow for Hammer SpVg
Things are also still tight in the basement, but the first decision has been made on this penultimate matchday: Hammer SpVg will have to make the difficult journey to the Landesliga. Bockum-Hövel shoot themselves out of the relegation zone with a 7:1 win
SG Bockum-Hövel ensured that Hamm can no longer reach the 13th place relegation zone with a brilliant 7:1 away win at fellow promoted team FC Nieheim, leapfrogging Nordkirchen and leaving the relegation zone.
