Movement in the squad of Türkspor Dortmund. Two players were sent off, including the top scorer. Another new addition has also been confirmed.
What Türkspor Dortmund announced on Wednesday was no longer a surprise: Mateus Ajala Cardoniz is leaving the club after being promoted to the Oberliga Westfalen.
The 27-year-old Brazilian was the outstanding man of the past Westfalenliga season. He was top scorer with 29 goals. Ajala only needed 21 appearances to achieve this (in the meantime he was missing from his team because he had to leave the country for a new visa). And in the end of the season he really turned up the heat: In his last six games, he scored eleven times and helped Türkspor to the championship.
It is not yet known for which club Ajala will play in the future. A few weeks ago, he stressed to RS that he would like to continue playing in Germany – at best with a professional club. “I know I have the ability to play in high leagues,” Ajala said.
And the second Brazilian promotion hero is also turning his back on Türkspor. Matheus Lucas Souza Mendes was an important pillar for the defence (20 appearances). Now the 26-year-old is moving on to an unknown destination. TSD wished both departures “all the best and much success” in their new challenges.
Türkspor fetches Paderborn talent Dag
At the same time, the Dortmund team announced the next new arrival. It is Koray Dag – a 20-year-old attacker who obviously has great potential in the Oberliga. Dag comes to Türkspor from the second team of SC Paderborn.
He moved there during the winter break – and immediately established himself in the extended starting eleven. The offensive player scored three goals in 15 appearances. At the end of the season, he celebrated promotion to the Regionalliga West with the SCP reserve team. Dag also got a taste of the second division when he sat on the bench for the Paderborn professionals. In the first half of the season, the Hammer native played once for SC Verl in the 3rd Division.
Now he will continue his career with the ambitious promoted team Türkspor. Dag is the 15th newcomer to the team of coach Sebastian Tyrala.
