In the Oberliga Niederrhein, the top teams don’t show any weakness and score victories. ETB Schwarz-Weiß Essen wins in a draw.
The 8th matchday in the Oberliga Niederrhein has been completed. Already on Saturday, there was no winner in the top match between Sportfreunde Baumberg and TVD Velbert (2:2), while 1. FC Kleve and VfB Hilden celebrated victories. The crisis at KFC Uerdingen thus intensified.
Germania Ratingen remains the first pursuer of Sportfreunde Baumberg. With a 3-1 (2-0) win at promoted Adler Union Frintrop, Ratingen secured second place against 1. FC Kleve and moved to within three points of the league leaders.
SV Straelen follows behind Ratingen in the standings. The team relegated from the Regionalliga got off to a good start against Sportfreunde Hamborn and quickly took a 2-0 lead thanks to a double strike by Pedro Cejas (19th) and Tom Hirsch (23rd). SVS continued to push up the score after the break, with Hirsch scoring his second goal (58th), Takumi Yanagisawa (64th) and Markus Müller (82nd) ensuring a clear 5-0 final score.
ETB Schwarz-Weiß Essen received Mülheimer FC, an up-and-coming team. And the game started promisingly for ETB, Timur Kesim (24th) put the home side in front of 336 spectators at the Uhlenkrug with 1:0 in the lead. Shortly thereafter, however, bad news for the Esseners when Giuliano Zimmerling was sent off (34th), yet ETB secured the lead into halftime.
After that, Schwarz-Weiß was of course primarily concerned with protection, the Mülheimers invested a lot, but initially created too few clear chances. On the contrary, Samuel Owusu Addai increased the lead to 2-0 just under 20 minutes before the final whistle. Ahmet Malik Uzun’s follow-up goal (90th) made it exciting again, but ETB managed to hold on to the lead with ten men.
Schonnebeck wins away – Büderich wins in basement duel
SpVg Schonnebeck was challenged by TSV Meerbusch. After going into the dressing room goalless, Schonnebeck came out of the break in ideal form. Calvin Küper did not need a minute to score the 1:0 (46.) for the hosts. Conor David Tönnies added the 2:0 (72.), Tim Winking (82.) provided the 3:0 final score.
FC Büderich won its cellar duel at SV Sonsbeck 2-0, Union Nettetal defeated VfB Homberg 3-1.
