Dane Jonas Vingegaard won the mountain time trial at the Tour de France and inflicted a defeat on his pursuer Tadej Pogačar. Vingegaard has the best prospects of rolling into Paris in yellow.

Jonas Vingegaard is emphatically rolling towards his second overall victory in the Tour de France. The Dane won the day’s 16th stage, a mountain time trial, by one minute and 38 seconds over his closest rival, Tadej Pogačar.

Vingegaard in yellow: lead extended

In the overall standings, Vingegaard is now one minute and 48 seconds ahead of the Slovenian.

Austria’s Felix Gall is in tenth place, Germany’s Emanuel Buchmann is 15th.The Tour of France comes to an end on Sunday. This Wednesday and on Saturday there are still two difficult mountain stages to come.
