Rheinland Hamborn leaves no doubt as to who will be promoted from the Niederrhein 6 district league at the end of the season. Two new players have arrived – one is definitely overqualified.
Eren Taskin and Emre Sahin are the next and, for the time being, last two new additions to district league team Rheinland Hamborn. Taskin comes from Sportfreunde Hamborn 07 from the Oberliga. However, the Duisburg district club will now compete in the regional league following their relegation. Sahin comes from FSV Duisburg, which was relegated to the district league.
A look at Taskin’s CV shows that the attacking midfielder has no business playing in the Bezirksliga. Born in Duisburg, he was trained in the youth departments of MSV Duisburg, Rot-Weiss Essen and FC Schalke 04. In the men’s game, the now 31-year-old scored goals for Fortuna Düsseldorf II and SG Wattenscheid 09, as well as for Fatih Karagümrük and Eyüpspor in Turkey.
Taskin made 123 appearances in the Regionalliga West in Germany, scoring 21 times and providing eight assists. His most recent engagements with Sportfreunde Baumberg and Hamborn have seen him play 29 games in the Oberliga Niederrhein (three goals). In the 2013/14 season, he even came on as a substitute for one half of Fortuna Düsseldorf’s home match against 1. FC Köln (0:1) in the 2nd Bundesliga.
Sahin comes from FSV Duisburg, who have been grouped in the Niederrhein 6 district league following their relegation from the Landesliga with Hamborn. The 23-year-old defensive midfielder trained at Fortuna Düsseldorf and Sportfreunde Hamborn before joining FSV Duisburg’s U17s in the summer of 2015.
He stayed with FSV until the end before moving within the city. “Anyone who has seen the league standings will have realized that we should have a squad with a wide range of quality this season. With the two new players and the other transfers, we’re looking forward to the new season with lots of derbies,” Fahri Ulutas, chairman of Rheinland Hamborn, told “Fupa.”
