The Spielvereinigung Schonnebeck has pulled off a transfer coup. The Essener Oberliga club was able to announce the signing of a Regionalliga West captain.
The SV Schonnebeck management has pulled off a real transfer coup! 29-year-old Tim Winking has transferred from regional league team 1. FC Bocholt to the north-eastern Essen club.
In the past season, Winking was not only a regular player but also the team captain of the club from the time-honoured Hünting. Now the 1.94-metre man will play at Schetters Busch. He also decided against an offer from SV Schermbeck (with Sebastian Wickl, Marcel Platzek and Kevin Grund, three Bocholt players had moved to Schermbeck, editor’s note) – Forecasting reported.
Winking has a CV with 44 regional league appearances and 224 first division games to his name. Before his time at Bocholt Hünting, he played for VfL Rhede and SSVg Velbert. In his youth, Winking was trained at Preußen Münster.
“I’m really looking forward to my time in Schonnebeck and have always enjoyed playing here, even as an opponent. The club is very familiar and the talks with Dirk Tönnies and Christian Leben were very trusting. With my experience, I want to help the many young players develop and offer great, attractive football with the squad,” says Winking, who spent the last seven years in Bocholt.
Schonnebeck sporting director Christian Leben says of the transfer: “We are very proud that we were able to convince a player of this quality to move to Schetters Busch. With Tim Winking, we have signed a central defender who will give our defence more stability. He has consistently performed at a high level over the past few years and will be very valuable for us in both defensive work and in the build-up to the game. In addition, Winko is an absolute leader who has enormous experience and knows the Oberliga Niederrhein very well.”
