Transfer coup! District league newcomers help themselves to Wuppertaler SV

From the Regionalliga West to the district league: a newcomer has helped themselves to Wuppertaler SV.

Lennard Wagemann is back at SG Hackenberg. The 21-year-old left-back is leaving Wuppertaler SV. This means he is moving from the Regionalliga West to the Bezirksliga Niederrhein 2.

“‘Lenny’ is a true home-grown talent and is now returning to the black and yellow. Despite his young age, he already brings valuable experience from the Regionalliga,” SG happily writes on social media. Wagenberg only joined Wuppertaler SV last summer. In the current Regionalliga season, Wagemann has made ten appearances and provided one assist, but is now returning to his roots.

His path took him from the FC Remscheid youth team to the Fortuna Düsseldorf youth academy, where he was trained from the U15 to the U19 level. Lennard Wagemann then made his first appearances in the senior division of the Regionalliga and continued to develop, including at Wuppertaler SV.

Points Table

“We are delighted that Lennard wants to bring new impetus with his quality and ambition and is taking the next step with us. It’s great to see you back in the black and yellow jersey, Lenny. Here’s to a good and successful time,” the club continues.

Hackenberg is currently second from bottom in the Bezirksliga Niederrhein 2 as a promoted team. Only fellow promoted team DV Solingen II is behind Hackenberg, although Solingen is already five points behind.

Hackenberg has twelve points to its name and is still fully involved in the relegation battle. SSV Berghausen (13 points), SSV Germania (15 points), and SC Viktoria, another promoted team (17 points), are currently its main rivals.

At the top of the table, things are even tighter. SV Solingen is at the top with 39 points, but SC Reusrath (38 points) and FSV Vohwinkel (36 points) are waiting to pounce if SV Solingen slips up.
