As is so often the case, many players are bid farewell on the last matchday. This is also the case for TSV 1860 München and VfB Lübeck.
Planning for the upcoming Regionalliga-Nord season has been in full swing at VfB Lübeck for several weeks. Sporting director Sebastian Harms and new head coach Guerino Capretti have recently compared their ideas and held talks with all the players in the current squad.
The result: Twelve players from the team relegated from the third division will leave the Lohmühle. Before the match against Rot-Weiss Essen, Yannic Stein (back to Union Berlin) and Robin Velasco (Viktoria Köln), captain Tommy Grupe (end of career), Pascal Breier, Mattis Daube, Mats Facklam, Aaron Herzog, Kimmo Hovi, Jannik Löhden, Sören Reddemann, Morten Rüdiger and Ulrich Taffertshofer (all destination unknown) said goodbye.
And TSV 1860 Munich also had a lot going on in terms of farewells before the game against Arminia Bielefeld. No fewer than 13 men are leaving the Lions.
Among them is Phillipp Steinhart, who spent a total of 17 seasons at TSV 1860 Munich. As a twelve-year-old, he moved from SC Fürstenfeldbruck to the Young Lions in 2004. He made an immediate impression there, even making three appearances for the DFB selection at U16 and U17 level. With the TSV 1860 A-Juniors in 2012, he only narrowly failed to reach the semi-finals of the German Championship against 1. FC Kaiserslautern. At the age of 20, Phillipp Steinhart made his professional debut under coach Reiner Maurer against Hansa Rostock. It was to remain his only appearance in the second division.
From 2014, he spent three years away from home, returning for the 1860 professionals’ fresh start in the Regionalliga Bayern. Since then, the left-back has been a permanent fixture until he was recently hampered by injuries. Since his return to the Lions in 2017, Phillipp Steinhart has played a total of 29 games in the Regionalliga Bayern (1 goal/8 assists), two promotion games to the 3rd division against 1. FC Saarbrücken, 177 third division games (18/31), six DFB Cup games (2/0) and nine games in the Toto Cup (0/3).
In addition, Fynn Lakenmacher (SV Darmstadt 98), Milos Cocic, Mansour Ouro-Tagba, Julius Schmid, Devin Sür, Albion Vrenezi, Kilian Ludewig, Kaan Kurt, Niklas Tarnat, Manfred Starke, Eroll Zejnullahu (all destination unknown) and Abdenego Nankishi (on loan from Werder Bremen) are leaving Grünwalder Straße.
