Oguz Ayan of TSV Meerbusch is playing an outstanding season in the Oberliga Niederrhein so far and impresses with his quality as a goal scorer.
TSV Meerbusch have made a solid start to the current season in the Oberliga Niederrhein. After five games played with three wins and two defeats, the team under the direction of head coach Kevin Kreuzberg ranks seventh in the table with nine points and a goal difference of 19:11.
With 19 goals scored, Meerbusch has the most dangerous offensive department in the entire league so far. TSV striker Oguz Ayan has played a major role in the club’s recent successes. In five games, Ayan has scored a staggering eleven goals and set up three others for his team-mates. On matchday four against SV Sonsbeck, for example, Ayan scored all four goals himself in his side’s 4-0 win.
In the summer of 2021, Ayan moved to TSV Meerbusch after only one year and an unsatisfactory season at Sportfreunde Baumberg. Nevertheless, the striker scored three goals in nine games and provided one assist during his time in Baumberg.
At the moment he is far and away the top scorer in the Oberliga Niederrhein. Second place is shared by Robin Hömig (SF Baumberg), Micah Cain (also TSV Meerbusch) and Pascal Weber (VfB Hilden) with five goals each.
112 goals in 112 games
Before Ayan was promoted from the U19s of 1.FC Mönchengladbach to the first team in the summer of 2017, the striker played for the youth team of Rot-Weiss Essen. In 2012, the goal scorer moved from Essen’s U17s to Mönchengladbach’s U19s. In the summer of 2016, Ayan moved from Gladbach to SC Kapellen-Erft for one year before returning to the Lower Rhine to play for 1. FC Mönchengladbach.
The striker played a total of 112 games in the Landesliga and scored 122 goals. In addition, the goal scorer also shone as a provider of assists and set up 46 goals for his team-mates.
Next Sunday, TSV Meerbusch will face last-place FSV Duisburg in the Oberliga. The Duisburg team is still waiting for its first win this season. So far, FSV have only managed one point and a total of two goals. This is probably a good opportunity for top scorer Ayan to further increase his tally in the next match.
