Türkspor Dortmund has announced another transfer. The newcomer comes from a top regional league team.
When the new season starts next weekend in the Oberliga Westfalen, many eyes will be looking eagerly at Türkspor Dortmund. After several promotions in a row, the club is considered a surprise bag – some coaches even count TSD among the extended circle of favorites.
One reason for this are the transfers Türkspor has made. The Dortmund club has signed numerous young talents, but also experienced players from the top division or higher leagues.
A few days before the season opener against Sportfreunde Siegen (Sunday, 3 p.m., RS-Liveticker), such a new arrival is added: Türkspor has signed Nazzareno Ciccarelli. The 26-year-old moves to the Ruhr region from northeastern regional league club Rot-Weiß Erfurt.
Last season, the attacking player played for a long time with the traditional club in the battle for promotion to the 3rd League. Ciccarelli was an important factor in this. In 29 Regionalliga games, he contributed seven goals and eight assists. This made him RWE’s third-best scorer.
37 Oberliga goals in 123 appearances
Now, however, Ciccarelli is returning to the west and thus back to his homeland. Before the native of Herne moved to Erfurt a year ago, he spent his entire career in the Ruhr area. He played most of his games for TSG Sprockhövel and Westfalia Herne.
Ciccarelli also played for SC Hassel, FC Brünninghausen and Hammer SpVg, and has already made 123 appearances in the Oberliga Westfalen, scoring an impressive 37 goals and providing 28 assists. In the jersey of Türkspor Dortmund, Ciccarelli would like to expand this record in the future.
