Showdown in the Oberliga Westfalen! Sportfreunde Lotte welcome Türkspor Dortmund for a catch-up match. We spoke to Sebastian Tyrala about the task in Lotte.
There can hardly be more top games in the Oberliga Westfalen. VfL Sportfreunde Lotte welcome Türkspor Dortmund. Sebastian Tyrala’s team are still unbeaten in the new calendar year and are making great strides towards third-placed Lotte.
“I’m really pleased with the team’s development. You can see that it has matured and become more experienced over the course of the season. That was particularly noticeable in the game against Sprockhövel, where we conceded the equalizer but didn’t let up after that and won 6:1,” said Tyrala.
Sportfreunde’s last loss was against relegation candidates FC Eintracht Rheine (1:2). Sportverein Schermbeck thus overtook VfL and snatched second place. Tyrala’s team were convincing against the second team of SC Preußen Münster. The Dortmund side won 3:1 against “one of the strongest teams in the league”, as Tyrala emphasized to RS before the game.
Does the form curve therefore speak in favor of the visitors? In this stadium, on grass and under floodlights, I think both teams are just really looking forward to it. Lotte will be out to make amends after our 3-0 win in the first leg. It doesn’t get much more top-class than that,” explained Sebastian Tyrala.
However, he strongly believes “that Lotte will be unstoppable over 34 matchdays.”
I’m sure that if we play these upcoming games positively, we’ll be able to spread fear in the league.

A possible win would bring Türkspor to within three points of Lotte. Depending on how Schermbeck and league leaders ASC 09 Dortmund play, the ex-professional’s team could get a taste of the promotion battle
Tyrala recently emphasized that his team is facing a fateful few weeks. First, the fourth-placed team in the table has to travel to Lotte and then Dortmund host Schermbeck. “It would definitely be cool to get to the top. If we play these upcoming games positively, I’m sure we can also spread fear in the league. “
