A turnaround for Elsamed Ramaj. He is staying at Alemannia Aachen after all, after it didn’t look like he would at first.
For a long time it looked as if Elsamed Ramaj and West-Regionalligist Alemannia Aachen would part ways this summer. The two parties were unable to reach a common denominator in the negotiations for a new contract.
Now the turnaround: Ramaj will continue to play for Alemannia Aachen after all. Ramaj moved from Kickers Offenbach to Aachen in the summer of 2022. Last season, the 27-year-old scored six goals and made three assists in 22 league games for Alemannia. Prior to that, the attacking player made 27 appearances for Hansa Rostock and VfB Lübeck, among others, in the 3rd division.
“In the summer, there were some inconsistencies and misunderstandings, so the contract was not extended at first. However, we have always stayed in contact with Eli because we always knew that he was a good fit for us. In renewed talks with Eli, we realised once again how much he would like to continue playing here. Now we are very happy to see him continue to play in the black and yellow jersey,” explained Alemannia managing director Sascha Eller.
“I have always felt very comfortable here in Aachen and for me personally I also had a good year here, even if I was set back by the injury at the end. Alemannia Aachen gave me a lot after a difficult time in football, and I am very grateful for that. Now I want to repay the trust that has always been placed in me here by performing well,” Ramaj emphasises.
After all, the Aachen team has high goals. They want to reach the 3rd League, even if that cannot be completely planned. The start of the season was fine. First there was a dramatic 1:2 at home against WSV despite a long lead, then Aachen won 3:1 in Lippstadt. On matchday 3 (Friday, 11 August), Aachen will host Borussia Mönchengladbach’s U23 at home on the Tivoli from 7:30 p.m.
