The rebuilding process at SSVg Velbert continues. A winger from Viersen and a talented player from the city rivals have now been signed.
Following their relegation from the Regionalliga West, SSVg Velbert are on the verge of a rebuild in the Oberliga Niederrhein. Eleven players were sent off on the last matchday of the Regionalliga.
A lot has happened since then, including the introduction of Peter Radojewsk as the new coach. And he has now welcomed two new players who should help the team to play a good role in the Oberliga Niederrhein. They are the sixth and seventh additions to the Velbert Sunflower.
With the Japanese player Reo Yoshida, a new player has been signed for the wing. Last season, he played the full 90 minutes in 37 of 38 games for the regional league club 1. FC Viersen. He initially signed with SSVg for one year.
SSVg also signed 20-year-old central defender Lukas Larsen from TVD Velbert. He trained in the youth ranks of 1. FC Köln and played in his native Denmark for three years from the U19 level. From there he went to Velbert’s city rivals TVD.
As the defender suffered a cruciate ligament rupture in the spring, he will certainly need some time to be fully fit again. But this deal was intended to be a long-term one, with the central defender signing a two-year deal with SSVg.
Additions to SSVg Velbert: Marco De Stefano (Hamborn 07), Mohammed Hassouni (Vogelheimer SV), David Glavas (TVD Velbert), Valon Zhushi (Wuppertaler SV U19), Luis Plath (Rot-Weiß Oberhausen U19), Reo Yoshida (1. FC Viersen), Lukas Larsen (TVD Velbert)
Departures from SSVg Velbert: Jonathan Muiomo (FV Illertissen), Jonas Erwig-Drüppel (SV Schermbeck), Rilind Hetemi (Türkspor Dortmund), Florian Berisha (VfB Homberg), Durim Berisha, Joey Gabriel, Micah Cain, Alihan Adigüzel, Jovan Jovic, Vedran Beric (all destination unknown), Benjamin Hemcke (back to Viktoria Köln after loan)
