VfL Bochum will play three test matches during their training camp in Jerez, and two opponents have already been confirmed.
There are still three weeks to go before the rest of the Bundesliga kicks off. VfL Bochum will start the last three weeks of preparation on Monday at Castroper Straße. On 7 January, the team will travel to the training camp in Jerez.
Coach Thomas Letsch’s team will play three test matches there. VfL Bochum announced this on New Year’s Eve. Two of them are already fixed, a third opponent is still being sought.
So far, two games against Swiss first division teams have been confirmed. On 10 January, there will be a clash with Grasshoppers Zurich. With 27 championship titles – the last, however, in 2003 – the club is the record champion. Historically, it is one of the biggest and most successful clubs in the country. Coach Giorgio Contini’s team is currently in seventh place. Renat Dadashov, the brother of Schalke II striker Rufat Dadashov, plays for the club.
Three days later, VfL will face a former German international: FC Luzern. Max Meyer moved there in the summer. The native of Oberhausen has scored six goals in eleven appearances in the Swiss Super League.
