The squad at Sportclub Verl has undergone a number of changes in recent days. Three new players have arrived, and one departure has been confirmed.
After the signing of Nicolas Sessa – RevierSport reported – SC Verl was able to announce two more additions just in time for the weekend.
Michel Stöcker (most recently Holstein Kiel II) and Nikos Zografakis (FC Energie Cottbus) will play for the East Westphalians with immediate effect and could start for SC Verl as early as Sunday (3 p.m., RevierSport live ticker) in the home match in Paderborn against SV Waldhof Mannheim.
“Michel played a strong preparation with us as a training guest and knows our style of play, so he will help us immediately. With Nikos, we get another option for our attacking game,” said a delighted Verl’s sporting director Sebastian Lange.
Schmitt moves to Kassel
Meanwhile, Oliver Issa Schmitt has left Verl’s Poststraße. The 22-year-old attacking player is joining south-west regional league side KSV Hessen Kassel. “With Oliver Issa Schmitt, we are gaining a flexible offensive player. He fits exactly into our requirement profile of the offensively strong type of player trained at a high level. I see Oliver with his attitude and playmaking ability as an ideal reinforcement in the forward line”, says a delighted KSV head coach Tobias Damm.
“The Regionalliga Südwest is a new experience for me. I firmly believe that we will play a good role as a team and deliver great football matches. I want to make a decisive contribution to that,” said Schmitt, who trained with 1. FC Köln and played 14 games for Verl (two goals, two assists), explaining his move.
