SC Wiedenbrück is setting the course for the new season in the Regionalliga West. The next gaps in the squad are being closed.
SC Wiedenbrück still has a lot to do ahead of the new season in the Regionalliga West. Above all, the search is on for a successor to Daniel Brinkmann on the touchline, who left Wiedenbrück with the last game of the season against SV Lippstadt and point number 100. He is heading to the U21s of SC Paderborn.
There are also still some unanswered questions in the squad. The answer to one of them is Lamin Touray. The 21-year-old has signed a contract until 2026, as the club announced via Instagram.
The attacking player was not a regular for relegated SSVg Velbert in the pre-season, but played in all 17 games in the first half of the season – mostly as a substitute. Nevertheless, both sides agreed to terminate his contract in the winter.
Nick Flock will also wear the Wiedenbrücker jersey again in the new season – for the first time as a senior player. After leaving SCW in the summer of 2015 to join Arminia Bielefeld’s U17s, the 24-year-old is now returning from the Oberliga Westfalen.
Son comes in for father – Aslan extends after illness
There he played for FC Gütersloh and since 2022 for Victoria Clarholz. After 116 games in the Oberliga (24 goals, 16 assists), the attacker wants to keep his youth club in the Regionalliga from July. Curious: Father Dirk Flock – Daniel Binkmann’s assistant coach – will also be leaving the club for Pader, with son Nick “now filling the Flock gap”, as SCW explains.
There is also further positive news from the club’s own ranks: Iskender Aslan, a talented player, has extended his contract. The 19-year-old only returned to training at the end of the season after a long illness and celebrated his comeback in the regional league in the home match against SC Paderborn II. Aslan is “one of the club’s greatest attacking talents”, as SCW explained. “We wish him a lot of strength, health and lots of fun in the upcoming regional league season!”
