In the 2022/2023 Westfalenpokal competition, two of the four quarter-final matches took place on Saturday, 19 November 2022. Two upper league teams prevailed.
In the first two of four quarter-final pairings, two Oberliga Westphalia representatives were each victorious away from home on Saturday and qualified for the Westfalenpokal semi-finals in 2023.
ASC 09 Dortmund won 3:1 at SV Kutenhausen-Todtenhausen, who had previously been the favourites. In front of 750 spectators, Luis Weiß (11th), Lars Warschewski (39th) and Elias Boadi Opoku (39th) made everything clear for the favourites in the first 45 minutes. Kjell-Timon Rolfes (84th) was able to reduce the score to 1:3 for the district league team Kutenhausen-Todtenhausen.
In the second quarter-final duel of the day, Delbrücker SC won against RSV Meinerzhagen. The Oberliga team won 3:1 in front of 500 spectators at the Westfalenliga side, with the score 1:0 for the hosts after 45 minutes. Anas Akhabach (22nd) had put Meinerzhagen in front.
In the second half, Patrice Yoann Heisinger (47th) and Güven Kaplan (78th, 82nd) turned the match in favour of the Delbrück team.
This means that two of the four semi-finalists have been determined. The third participant will be determined on Wednesday, 23 November 2022, at 7.30 pm between FC Gütersloh and SC Obersprockhövel. The Gütersloh team is in good form and was well prepared for the cup match during the week on Saturday in the league match against TuS Erndtebrück (4:2).
When the fourth semi-final between Rot-Weiß Erlinghausen and Spielvereinigung Erkenschwick will take place is still open. As RevierSport reported, the match scheduled for Saturday was cancelled on Friday.
