Like Rot-Weiss Essen, Erzgebirge Aue has made a bad start in the 3rd division. Before the transfer deadline on Wednesday, the club wants to get rid of two players.
Rot-Weiss Essen and Erzgebirge Aue have made a false start to the current third division season. The two traditional clubs are the only ones in the 3rd division to remain without a win so far. At least one of them will remain so next Friday, when the two still winless clubs will face each other directly.
However, the omens are different: While Rot-Weiss Essen came up from the Regionalliga, the Veilchen had to make a completely new start after their relegation from the 2nd Bundesliga. Led by Bayreuth’s promotion coach Timo Rost, the entire squad was turned inside out.
Two second-league players on the wish list
19 players were brought in, 21 players had to leave. And two more are to be added. As MDR reports, the club still wants to give away Jannis Lang (20) and Jann George (30). Both joined the club at the beginning of the year. Lang from VfL Wolfsburg (contract until 2025), George from SSV Jahn Regensburg (contract until 2023). The same applies to Philipp Riese (32), who has been under contract with the Auers since 2015, but works at the club as co-coach of the U16s. Before the 0:1 loss to Dynamo Dresden, Ramzi Ferjani left the club on loan to Wormatia Worms.
But something could still happen on the entry side as well. As the online portal liga3-online reports, Merveille Biankadi, who no longer plays a role at 1. FC Heidenheim, and Nikola Dovedan are on the Auer wish list. The latter, by the way, could also come to the Erzgebirge after the end of the transfer period: The long-time second division player did not receive a new contract after the end of his contract in Nuremberg and has been clubless ever since.
