Two relegation candidates announce squad changes

Some professional clubs are using the long winter break to make squad corrections. This is also the case for two basement children of the 3rd league.

The current season is not going satisfactorily for either Spielvereinigung Bayreuth or SV Meppen.

Both the Franconians and the Emslanders are in a relegation spot in the 3rd Division after 17 match days. Now both clubs have announced squad changes for the winter break.

Bayreuth definitely wants to strengthen during the break. “We first have to present economic framework conditions for this,” said managing director Wolfgang Gruber in an interview with the “Bayreuther Sonntagszeitung” – and named two possibilities for this: “This can be through additional fresh capital, or through a reduction of the previous costs, for example, players leaving us in the winter. I assume that three to four players will terminate their contracts.”

The portal “liga3-online.de” names four strike candidates with Patrick Weimar, Lucas Chrubasik, Patrick Scheder and Cemal Kaymaz. The quartet has not made more than a few short appearances this season.

And SV Meppen are also slimming down their squad. “There are players who I would suggest to maybe look for something else because I don’t think they are the right ones for the situation we are in now,” coach Stefan Krämer told the “NOZ”.

Managing director Ronald Maul affirmed: “The players and their advisors know.”

The names of players such as Beyhan Ametov, Paul and Johannes Manske are mentioned here in the SV Meppen environment. All three have played a subordinate role under Coach Krämer so far.
