Tyrala after two 1:4 defeats: “Everyone has a duty”.

TuS Bövinghausen recently lost two league games with 1:4. Coach Sebastian Tyrala also takes himself to task.

TuS Bövinghausen is often described as a club that is not normally promoted. Many believe the club can make it into the regional league. Coach Sebastian Tyrala is not so keen on hearing that and would like to push the role of favourite away from him. The club recently suffered two 1:4 defeats in a row, first against FC Gütersloh and then against Victoria Clarholz last matchday.

The coach probably didn’t like that either. “The defeat against Clarholz annoyed me more. You can lose at FC Gütersloh sometimes. We were leading against Clarholz, but the defeat was unnecessary,” explains Tyrala and adds: “We all have to take ourselves to task now and question ourselves. That includes me. “

The next opponent in the Oberliga is 1. FC Gievenbeck, a fellow promoted team, next Saturday (12 September). Tyrala expects a good opponent’s defence there and a change that first has to be managed: “We play on a grass pitch there. For a team that trains on artificial turf every day, that’s a big change. We don’t have any pitch defects during training. Especially now with the weather conditions and the deep pitch, a grass pitch is also a change for the body,” analyses the ex-professional.

Although “everyone at Bövinghausen has to question themselves” after the two defeats, Tyrala also gives the all-clear: “We’re still not panicking or going crazy. Despite the defeats, we are still second in the table. That means we’ve built something up in the games before,” says the 34-year-old optimistically.

The boys need match practice, that’s why we do the test matches. We need everyone in the squad at full strength.

In addition to the league games, TuS have also played a number of test matches recently – most recently a 3:1 victory against the U19s of VfL Bochum. The reason for this? “We have 25 men in the squad. Many of them have rarely played more than 90 minutes in the last six or seven weeks. The boys need match practice, that’s why we do the test matches. We need everyone in the squad at full strength. “
