U19 player receives BVB professional contract – “A dream come true”

Borussia Dortmund has signed a young player from last year’s U19 squad to a professional contract

Promising performances are rewarded: Borussia Dortmund have tied Cole Campbell to the club on a long-term deal.

The US U19 international signed a professional contract with BVB on Tuesday until June 30, 2028. 18-year-old Campbell is the next top talent to stay in Dortmund after Kjell Wätjen (18).

BVB Managing Director of Sport Lars Ricken said: “Cole is a difference-maker in our U19 squad. His pace, his dribbling, his finishing and his mentality are qualities that make him special. We want to continue to promote his development, introduce him to the professional team and let him start with the pros in preparation. “

Campbell, who holds both US and Icelandic citizenship, joined BVB in July 2022. Since then, he has scored 18 goals and provided 19 assists in 52 games for the Black & Yellows U17s and U19s.

A dream came true for me when I moved to BVB. Now I’m living that dream and have been working since day one to keep improving. I am very happy and will continue to work hard to be successful at Borussia Dortmund
