Überruhr loses first place – new frontrunner achieves double digits

In the title race of the Bezirksliga Niederrhein 6, Blau-Gelb Überruhr has dropped points. Genc Osman is impressively pulling ahead.

In the title race of the Bezirksliga Niederrhein 6, many things point to a duel between Blau-Gelb Überruhr and SV Genc Osman. This Sunday there was a change of leadership at the table.

The previous leaders Überruhr had to accept the second bankruptcy of the current season. The team from Essen lost 2-1 at Mülheimer SV 07. Ibrahim Bayraktar had shot the guests into the lead (27th minute). But Hamza Velic equalized before half-time (41st minute) and shortly before the final whistle, Gracjan Adamowicz scored the winning goal for MSV (89th minute).

At the same time, Genc Osman more than mastered its task. The team, which was relegated from the Landesliga last season, defeated SuS Niederbonsfeld, who are in danger of being relegated, 11-2 away.

Genc Osman really turned on the pressure in the first half hour. 3:0 after 15 minutes, 6:0 after 29 minutes. Tevfik Kücükarslan was the top scorer for Duisburg with four goals (5′, 16′, 49′, 64′). Samet Sadiklar (28′, 41′) and Oguzhan Cuhaci (29′, 76′) both scored twice. Melih Eroglu (9th), Mert Yagci (15th) and Yusuf Cemal Cicekdal (49th) also scored.

Thanks to the comfortable victory, Genc Osman are now two points clear at the top of the table. TUSEM Essen consolidated their hold on third place with a 7-0 win over TGD Essen West. In addition to double scorer Leo Derksen (16th, 54th), Lukas Paulun (48th), Lukas Grötecke (64th), Lukas Reppmann (77th), Fabian Riesner (81st) and Joel Ruhrus (82nd) scored.

At the other end of the table, ESC Preußen are still waiting for a win. The Essen-based team got off to a promising start against Duisburger FV 08, taking the lead through Mohamed El-Zein in the 11th minute. But just two minutes later, Duisburg’s Bora Karadag struck back (13′). And Emir Alic (51′, 74′) and Yavuz Kalyouncu (85′) ensured that in the end, ESC lost 1-4. They are now 14 points behind the first non-relegation spot.
