In the title race of the Lower Rhine District League 6, everything points to a two-horse race between Blau-Gelb Überruhr and SV Genc Osman. This Sunday saw a change at the top of the table.

The previous leaders, Überruhr, suffered their second defeat of the season. The Essen team lost 1-2 to Mülheimer SV 07. Ibrahim Bayraktar had given the visitors the lead in the 27th minute, but Hamza Velic equalized before the break (41st minute) and shortly before the final whistle, Gracjan Adamowicz scored the winning goal for MSV (89th minute).

At the same time, Genc Osman more than fulfilled its task. The Landesliga relegation candidates celebrated an 11-2 away win against SuS Niederbonsfeld.

Genc Osman was on fire in the first half hour in particular, taking a 3-0 lead after 15 minutes and 6-0 after 29 minutes. Tevfik Kücükarslan was Duisburg’s top scorer with four goals (5th, 16th, 49th, 64th). Samet Sadiklar (28th, 41st) and Oguzhan Cuhaci (29th, 76th) each scored twice. Melih Eroglu (9th), Mert Yagci (15th) and Yusuf Cemal Cicekdal (49th) were also successful.

Thanks to this resounding victory, Genc Osman now leads the table by two points. TUSEM Essen consolidated third place with a 7-0 win over TGD Essen West. In addition to Leo Derksen (16th, 54th), Lukas Paulun (48th), Lukas Grötecke (64th), Lukas Reppmann (77th), Fabian Riesner (81st) and Joel Ruhrus (82nd) scored the goals.

At the other end of the table, ESC Preußen are still waiting for their first win. Essen got off to a promising start at Duisburger FV 08, taking the lead through Mohamed El-Zein (11th minute). But just two minutes later, Duisburg’s Bora Karadag struck back (13th minute). Emir Alic (51st and 74th minutes) and Yavuz Kalyouncu (85th minute) ensured that ESC ultimately lost 1-4. They are now 14 points behind the first non-relegation spot.
