The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) had decided to allow Russian teams to participate in its U17 competitions again. Minors should not be punished for actions for which only adults are responsible, UEFA said.

The Ukrainian Football Association wrote that it is convinced that such a decision in the midst of Russia’s military action against Ukraine is unfounded and approves of Russia’s aggressive policy.
According to the UEFA decision, the Russian national anthem may not be played and the Russian flag may not be displayed at matches involving Russia. The matches may also not be played on Russian territory.
The chairman of the Polish Football Association, Cezary Kulesza, announced that Polish teams will not play against Russian teams. The English Football Association has also decided not to play with club and national teams against Russia or Russian clubs. In the adult sector, Russian teams will remain excluded from UEFA competitions.
