Unbeaten for 14 games – “hardship cases” before Wiedenbrück match

Preußen Münster must travel to Wiedenbrück on the second day of a regional league match. There, they recently suffered a painful 0:0 with consequences.

SC Preußen Münster is unbeaten in 14 games in the Regionalliga West. The start of the new season was also successful – the promoted SG Wattenscheid was beaten 4:1.

Now the SCP has its first away game – it goes to SC Wiedenbrück. And the Münster team does not have good memories of the last match there. The 0-0 draw two matchdays before the end of last season saw them lose the top spot in the table to Rot-Weiss Essen, who were promoted later on.

What was last season was last season. We’re going there without any old emotions

Sascha Hildmann

Now it’s off to Wiedenbrück again and SCP coach Sascha Hildmann emphasises: “Wiedenbrück play very compact and are well organised in the centre. What was last season was last season. We’ll go there without any old emotions and will work quite cleanly.”

Whereby Preußen will once again be the favourites against a team that is always good for a surprise. On the first matchday, SCW won at Fortuna Düsseldorf’s U23. Hildmann remains relaxed, however, because his team makes a very stable impression, which was also underlined in the match against Wattenscheid, when they were able to turn around a 0:1. “The reaction to the goal against was really good. At no point was I afraid that we would lose the game. But we were almost too motivated at the beginning of the game, we want to do better.”

In terms of personnel, he can draw on a full complement, as he explains: “All the boys are fit, including Thorben Deters. The training level of the team is very good at the moment. That doesn’t make it easy for a coach to line up and put together a squad, but I’d rather have it that way than the other way around. There will also be hardship cases for us – also because we always have to have four U23 players in the squad. “
