Unterhaching coach Unterberger: “Little things will decide”.

SpVgg Unterhaching, a promoted team, has proven to be a difficult opponent to beat in the 3rd division so far. On five occasions, however, they have not managed more than one point.

Rot-Weiss Essen has already been beaten 2-1 by surprise promotion contenders SSV Ulm 1846. On Wednesday evening (7 p.m., live in the forecast ticker), the next guest game awaits a league newcomer. RWE travels to Unterhaching.

The Spielvereinigung has adapted to the level of the 3rd League just as quickly as fellow promoted team Ulm. It was not until Matchday 7 that the Hachinger suffered their first and so far only defeat of the season. Arminia Bielefeld secured a 2-1 away win shortly before the end.

The problem: At the same time, Marc Unterberger’s team has only two wins to its credit. The Spielvereinigung has already shared the points five times – only the third promoted team in the group, VfB Lübeck (6), has done so more frequently. The Bavarians are currently one point behind RWE in twelfth place.

Points shared against “good teams

“However, you also have to classify who we drew against,” coach Unterberger stressed in the Merkur, however. “Those were good teams.” Among other things, a point jumped out against the ambitious 1. FC Saarbrücken (0:0), Zweitliga relegated Jahn Regensburg (1:1) or last weekend against a recently strong playing BVB II after a 0:2 deficit (2:2).

The coach, who continues to be on the sidelines without a pro license, also expects a close game against RWE. “With Essen, a team with decent self-confidence awaits us, which they recently earned with the victory against the league leader from Dresden,” knows the coach, who noted at the same time: “On the other hand, however, this shows how tight this league is.”

The Hachinger themselves want to “build on the good second half in Dortmund and bring our basic virtues onto the pitch in front of our own crowd,” announced the 34-year-old, who moved up from the U19s in the summer to succeed promotion coach Sandro Wagner. “Of course, we hope for many spectators and want to take advantage of the good atmosphere in the Uhlsportpark. In the end, small things will decide. “
