Unterhaching makes move to sign 218-time second division player

A few days ago, this player was still a topic at Halleschen FC, but in the end he signed for Spielvereinigung Unterhaching.

So now it has happened: the Unterhaching football club has signed Yannick Stark. The 33-year-old professional, who was without a club until last summer, when he had a contract in Manisa in Turkey until 2023, was already keeping fit with the Munich third division club in November 2023.

But at the time, the Haching club rejected the idea of signing Stark. On Deadline Day, the thinking changed. Stark did not sign for Hallescher FC, as assumed, but instead put his signature under a contract at the Hachinger Sportpark.

Next weekend, when the third division promoted team is a guest at 1. FC Saarbrücken on Sunday (February 12, 7:30 p.m.), the midfielder could then make his debut for the team of coach Marc Unterberger:

He told the Merkur: “The eligibility is there, only a few details remain to be clarified. We are pleased to have an additional personnel alternative.”

Yannick Stark comes from the youth of Eintracht Frankfurt

Stark was trained in the youth of Eintracht Frankfurt, and played for the second team of the club until the summer of 2010. This was followed by a transfer to MSV Duisburg with a direct loan to SV Darmstadt 98 and a year later to FSV Frankfurt. Curiously, he ultimately appeared for the Zebras in a single competitive game before joining the Bornheimer Hang on a free transfer in 2011.

Further stops at TSV 1860 Munich and Dynamo Dresden followed. With the Saxons, he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in the summer of 2021 and relegated again a year later. In the summer of 2022, he then moved to Turkey – a chapter that was not to be crowned with success.

In his career, Stark made 218 second division appearances and 68 appearances in the modern third division. So now Stark could help Halleschen FC in their fight against relegation in the third division. One direct competitor: Stark’s former club MSV Duisburg.
