VfB Hilden has announced the departure of a regular player. He is going on loan – for a curious reason.
VfB Hilden stands for continuity – also in terms of personnel. The turnover in the 03 squad is relatively low, which is probably one of the recipes for success of the Niederrhein-Oberliga club.
However, Hilden recently announced a departure – with a curious background. Tuncay Altuntas will no longer be part of Tim Schneider’s team in the second half of the season. The 22-year-old is moving to DV Solingen in the Landesliga on loan until the end of the season.
But not in order to gain match practice one division lower. Altuntas also gets that in Hilden, where he has made 15 appearances this season, starting twelve times. In fact, his temporary move has a family background.
“The majority of DV Solingen is run by my family,” explained the midfielder in a club statement from Hilden. “When they asked if I could help out for six months to avoid relegation, I couldn’t say no. “
The Solingen side, who finished in a respectable fourth place in the table last year, are currently stuck in the basement. They spent the winter in fourteenth place, just above the relegation places. With Altuntas, they now have a top-class reinforcement.
However, he is set to stay for half a year on loan. According to VfB, Altuntas has already committed to Hilden for the coming season. “I would like to thank the club for their understanding and am already looking forward to returning for the new season,” explained the Wuppertal native.
Meanwhile, Hilden’s sporting director Dennis Lichtenwimmer-Conversano is understanding: “Of course Tuncay’s six-month absence on and off the pitch hurts us. But he felt a certain responsibility, which we understood and ultimately agreed to. And we are all the more pleased that he proactively signaled his intention to extend his contract with us for another season. “
