A lot is happening at third division club SV Sandhausen. After captain Dennis Diekmeier and coach Jens Keller, four more players are leaving.
After missing out on promotion back to Bundesliga 2, SV Sandhausen will have to go through another round of changes in the coming season. And the face of SVS will obviously change quite a bit by then.
It has already become clear in recent days that coach Jens Keller and captain Dennis Diekmeier, who is ending his career, are leaving the club. Now there are four more departures: Rouwen Hennings, Yassin Ben Balla, Daniel Klein and Lucas Laux are also turning their backs on the Hardtwald.
“We would like to thank all the players for their commitment to SVS and wish them all the best for their sporting and personal futures,” explained Sandhausen’s sporting director Matthias Imhof.
Henning arrived last summer after many years at Fortuna Düsseldorf and had raised high expectations. He was only able to fulfill them in part. This was mainly due to injuries – the 36-year-old last appeared on the pitch last November
The striker still managed eight goals in 18 appearances. According to SVS, Hennings would like to take on a new challenge and not end his career this summer.
While goalkeeper Klein returns to FC Augsburg after his loan and Laux, who almost missed the entire season due to a cruciate ligament rupture, rejoins his home club Mainz 05, it remains to be seen what will happen with Ben Balla.
Perhaps in the Ruhr region? In any case, the 28-year-old Franco-Moroccan has already gained experience here. He played for Rot-Weiß Oberhausen and MSV Duisburg before coming to Sandhausen via Eintracht Braunschweig, FC Ingolstadt and Darmstadt 98.
The quintet will be given an official send-off at the last third division home game of the season against FC Ingolstadt on Saturday (1.30 pm). With Jeramias Lorch (Viktoria Köln), Emmanuel Iwe (most recently without a club) and the captain of the club’s own U19s, Aziz Alagi, three new signings for the coming season have already been confirmed.
