The VfL Bochum has signed Tim Oermann to a long-term contract extension shortly before Christmas. The talented defender signed a new contract until 2026.
For Tim Oermann, the presents came two days too early. VfL Bochum has signed a long-term contract extension with the talented defender. The 19-year-old signed a contract until 2026, the Bundesliga club announced on Thursday evening.
Since this season, the Bochum native, who has been through the entire youth system of VfL, has been part of the professional squad and has already appeared in four Bundesliga games. “Tim Oermann is another good example of the permeability from our own youth to the professionals,” said sporting director Patrick Fabian after the signing.

“He has proven that he can make the big step from the U19 to a Bundesliga team. We look forward to seeing him through his next stages of development and see him as an important element for our future squads.”
Oermann himself was equally evident in his delight at the extension: “The Bundesliga is one of the top leagues, to be able to play there is an incredible privilege, plus with the club I owe a lot to,” he told VfL media.
“I am glad that VfL believed in me and promoted me. I will do everything to make sure we are successful as a team and I am ready to face the new challenges.” Preferably in the Bundesliga, of course. “Staying in the league is our ultimate goal, and I want to help with one hundred percent commitment,” Oermann continued.
