Watzke hopes for Haller comeback in the second half of the season

Managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke of Bundesliga football club Borussia Dortmund hopes that goal scorer Sebastien Haller, who has testicular cancer, will make a comeback in the second half of the season.

“Sebastien and I had met last Tuesday and that’s when he told me that his chemotherapy will soon run out. We have high hopes that he might be able to rejoin the team towards the second half of the season,” Watzke told Sport Bild.

Watzke, however, wants to give Haller the necessary time. “We do not want to and must not put him under pressure. The illness was massive, he will get all the time in the world,” the BVB boss stressed. Haller had moved to Dortmund from Dutch record champions Ajax Amsterdam in the summer and has yet to play a competitive match.
