Westfalen club signs 150-time Regionalliga player

TSG Sprockhövel has presented its summer addition number three. It comes an experienced Regionalliga player.

Dennis Hahn (Hammer Spielvereinigung), Berkant Canbulut (SG Wattenscheid 09) – Forecasting reported – and Emre Yesilova, who also moves to TSG Sprockhövel from Wattenscheid, are the names of the three summer additions of the Oberliga Westfalen club.

“We are also through with that. We were able to keep the entire squad. During the season, only two boys left us for Obersprockhövel. I’m happy that we don’t have twelve or 13 players joining or leaving and that we were able to bring in continuity. I think our coach can work better this way,” Andre Meister, first chairman and sports director of TSG Sprockhövel, told Forecasting.

Like the 31-year-old Canbulut, who played over 170 competitive games for Wattenscheid in the Regional and Oberliga, the 29-year-old Yesilova returns to Sprockhövel’s Baumhof with a wealth of experience.

150 regional league games for TSG Sprockhövel, FC Kray, Alemannia Aachen, TuS Haltern, Rot Weiss Ahlen and BSV Schwarz-Weiß Rehden are in the vita of the fast flanker.

It’s crazy what’s going on. They’re signing like maniacs. It’s going to be an absolutely interesting 2023/2024 season. For us, it’s a matter of collecting points and collecting points again.

In addition, there are 82 upper league matches. Last season, Yesilova, who was often out injured, played twelve games (three goals) for relegated Wattenscheid. Canbulut and Yesilova will meet again with the SG in the coming series – this time as opponents in the Oberliga Westfalen.

“Emre wants to attack again, he wants to get fit again first and foremost and help us. He is absolutely willing and has a real desire to play for TSG. There were certainly other offers. But he has decided in favour of us. In the end, the signing of both players – Canbuluts and Yesilovas – was not easy for us, if you know our general conditions. But it worked out. We are all the happier,” explains Meister.

Despite these notable additions, TSG is not spinning around. Last season, Sprockhövel only managed to stay in the league on the last matchday. In the coming season, it should be a little earlier. “That is the goal. Nobody would object to a somewhat quieter series,” Meister emphasises. And what does Meister say about the competition? Meister’s answer: “It’s crazy what’s going on. They are signing like maniacs. It’s going to be an absolutely interesting 2023/2024 season. For us, it’s a matter of collecting points and collecting points again. “
