Two matches were on the agenda in the Westfalenpokal on Tuesday evening (29 August). Two regional league teams have progressed.
SC Wiedenbrück breathed a sigh of relief! The regional league team made it very exciting in the 2nd round of the Westphalia Cup at the Oberliga representative Türkspor Dortmund.
Wiedenbrück already led 3:0 at half-time after goals by Emre Aydinel (2) and a Türkspor own goal. Actually a safe lead – actually.
Because from the 70th minute onwards, Türkspor turned up the heat. Nazzareno Ciccarelli (71st, 73rd) brought the fifth-division team back into the game with a brace. And then this: In the 81st minute the referee pointed to the penalty spot. Semih Yigit stepped up – and missed. Luca Beermann held the ball. Bahattin Karahan then made everything clear in the fourth minute of injury time and secured Wiedenbrück’s ticket to the Westfalenpokal round of sixteen.
SV Lippstadt are also in the round of the last 16. After just over an hour, Luis Allmeroth scored the goal of the day in the Regionalliga West duel against FC Gütersloh.
