SV Lippstadt spent the winter in a relegation spot. But the sporting director is convinced that things will look different at the end of the season.
17 matches and only 13 points: No! It was not a good half-season for SV Lippstadt 08. And, despite this, SVL proved that it is not easy to beat in the last game of the year.
Alemannia Aachen only won 2:1 against Lippstadt in the eighth minute of stoppage time. As stupid as it sounds, this knockout also gives Lippstadt hope for the second part of the season.
Dirk Brökelmann on…
… the first half of the season for SV Lippstadt 08: “It was a very mixed first half of the season, in which we had to learn the hard way in many areas with our young team and perhaps also reached our limits. But there were also some good performances that weren’t rewarded. The boys are learning from week to week and that gives me confidence.”
… the best moment of the past round? “There were several great moments. I don’t want to pick out just one moment. We can see a clear development of the team, we are also becoming more mature. Once again: I’m confident that we can do it.”
… the worst moment of the half-season? “On December 9 at around 4 p.m. at the Aachen Tivoli, I thought to myself: ‘That’s how bitter soccer is right now’. That was the 98th minute in Aachen and Alemannia scored the 2:1 against us through Mika Hanraths. I just felt really sorry for our boys. They didn’t deserve it after that fight in front of 15,000 fans at the Tivoli. That was the bitterest moment of the first half of the season – and it also summed up our season a little. We often played well, fought well and came away empty-handed after 90 or 98 minutes.”
… the goals for 2024: “That’s clearly to stay in the league. We also know that it will be anything but easy. But we’ll be full of optimism from January 2 and will work hard. I’m convinced that we’ll be above the line after 34 match days. “
