Will SCP lose two key players?

SC Preußen Münster wants to return to the 3rd division at the third attempt. Everything is currently going according to plan. But two key players could still change.

Things are going really well for Preußen Münster at the moment: coach Sascha Hildmann’s team easily progressed in the Westphalia Cup, and in the league the team got off to an almost perfect start with 13 out of a possible 15 points.

And now, at the end of the summer transfer window, rumours are surfacing about two key players. According to information from RevierSport, Nicolai Remberg and Henok Teklab have been targeted by several second-division clubs. Münster, however, remains relaxed about the rumours.

“It’s nice to see our boys being talked about. After all, it only shows that they are performing well,” sports director Peter Niemeyer (38) is quoted as saying in the Bild newspaper, adding: “Firstly, we are in control ourselves. Secondly, we are well prepared and thirdly, I am sure that all the players will go along with our Preußen path out of conviction.”

Both Teklab (contract until 2023) and Remberg (until 2024) are still under contract with Prussia. An interested party would have to put a tidy six-figure sum on the table for both of them. According to RS, there is talk of 500,000 euros or more. Only then would the Prussians possibly be willing to talk.

The clubs still have until Thursday (6pm) to enter into negotiations with Münster regarding Teklab and Remberg. Should it come to that, Preußen are prepared, as Niemeyer emphasises: “We also know and deal intensively with the player market. But I still don’t expect our squad, which has deliberately been kept a little smaller, to change in this last transfer week. “
