RSC Anderlecht are close to signing Thorgan Hazard. The Belgian is expected to bring Borussia Dortmund four million euros.
Borussia Dortmund could still have another departure after the end of the German transfer window. Thorgan Hazard is on the verge of a move to RSC Anderlecht – according to several Belgian and now also German media reports.
The 30-year-old joined BVB from Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer of 2019 for a hefty sum of €25.5 million and impressed straight away. In his first Bundesliga season in black and yellow, the left winger scored seven goals and provided 13 assists in 33 games.
However, he was unable to build on this in the following years. Last season, he spent the second half of the season on loan at Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven, but did not really get going there either. In 13 appearances, Hazard started only once, scored twice and set up a goal.
No prospects at BVB
Hazard is unlikely to get much playing time at BVB this season either. Donyell Malen and Karim Adeyemi are set to play on the wings – if they are fit. Behind them, young Julien Duranville (who is currently still missing with a muscle strain) and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens are also likely to have the edge over Hazard.
So far this season, the Belgian has only played six minutes against 1. FC Köln. After 123 appearances, 18 goals and 21 assists, the Belgian’s chapter at Borussia Dortmund could therefore finally come to an end.
A transfer fee of four million euros is on the table
According to media reports, the winger has agreed on a three-year contract with Anderlecht. After that, there is supposed to be an option for a further season.
BVB, meanwhile, is probably booking an enormous transfer minus. The Belgian record champion has agreed with the Borussians on a transfer fee of four million euros. The medical check is due to take place on Wednesday, and then everything could happen very quickly.
