New Zealand defeated Norway 1-0, with Hannah Wilkinson scoring the winning goal to give her country its first ever World Cup victory. Switzerland gets into the action this Friday, facing the Philippines in Group A.

Like New Zealand, Australia also managed a 1-0 win. Steph Catley converted a penalty kick in the 52nd minute of play. Nearly 76,000 people attended Australia’s win over Ireland in Sydney. The second match in Group B will be played by Nigeria and Canada.
