In the Regionalliga West, two matches completed the 24th matchday.
Wuppertaler SV – SC Paderborn II 3:2
After leaders Alemannia Aachen drew at SV Rödinghausen, WSV’s home game against SC Paderborn U23 was a chance to close the gap on the league leaders to eight points.
And WSV seized the opportunity with a 3-1 win in front of 2220 spectators. Niklas Dams gave the Bergisch side the lead, which Jascha Brandt was able to equalize. However, Marco Terrazzino restored the lead before the break. Paderborn almost drew level again, but Vega Zambrano’s attempt hit the crossbar.
After the changeover, it was Kevin Hagemann who scored after an hour to supposedly decide the game. However, Paderborn came close again ten minutes before the end through Presley Pululu. However, WSV held on to win 3-2 and are now fourth – eight points behind leaders Aachen.

Schalke U23 – 1. FC Köln U21 0:1
In the reserve duel between FC Schalke 04 and 1. FC Köln, the comeback of S04 jewel Assan Ouedraogo took center stage in front of 350 spectators.
He had been out injured since November and was now allowed to play 45 minutes in the regional league team. At the time of his substitution, the score was already 0:1, as Cologne were the better team in the first half.
Accordingly, they led 1:0 thanks to an early goal from Damian Downs. After the changeover, the Royal Blues tried to exert more pressure, but did not create any major opportunities for a long time.
Only Kelsey Meisel had a chance to make it 1:1 shortly before the end, but FC otherwise defended the result with aplomb.
